Writer's Block: The one that got away

Do you believe in the concept of a soulmate? Do you think you've met him or her? Do you ever worry that "the one" got away?

This is an interesting question, because it doesn't ask about the soulmate in romantic terms, which is good. To me, a soulmate isn't necessarily a person with whom you are romantically involved. Why does the soul have to be sexual, after all?

As strange as it feels to say, sometimes I feel like Geordie is my soulmate. There's something about him, something that I connect with on a level I never have before. And it's not about sex, it's not really even about love. It's about something deeper, something very basic.

Maybe I'm just rambling! But I do believe that a soul mate is different from a lover, or a friend. I think it's a category of its own. And, for that reason, I believe also that people shouldn't worry about the one that got away. I think that soulmates fall together, and that it's inevitable. They could be a lover, or a friend, as well.

Ahhh, Mystical Tori is mystical.

When you get sick, do you prefer to go it alone or be doted upon by a friend, partner, or parent? Do you usually go to work or school or stay home?

I am a "leave me the hell alone, world" sick person. I hide in my bed and ignore everything and everyone. I hate having to go to work, and I hate being doted on. I just want the world to leave me the hell alone when I'm sick.

I suppose I don't mind someone bringing me things, but sitting around and bothering me, no way.

Police officer allegedly urinated on poker machine

A Queensland police officer has been stood down from normal duties over allegations he urinated on a poker machine on the Sunshine Coast.

The offence is alleged to have happened at the Alexandra Headlands nightclub on Wednesday night, when a group of off-duty police officers were socialising together.

Deputy Police Commissioner Ian Stewart says the officer has been stood down and will conduct non-operational duties until the investigation is completed.

"The allegation targets a specific officer but I know there were other officers allegedly off-duty at the time at the premises," he said.

The conduct of the Sunshine Coast constable is being investigated by senior officers in his region.

Police Ethical Standards Command and the Crime and Misconduct Commission have also been advised.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact CrimeStoppers

Hahahaha, sorry, but awesome!

Empty parking garages, roadside motels, dark caves, dank basements, overgrown forests—what kind of setting makes you feel nervous?

Shopping malls after the stores have closed. A product of watching Dawn of the Dead too many times. I am convinced there are zombies waiting for me around the corner.

Do you believe in monogamy?

Do I believe in it? It's not like the Easter Bunny! It does exist, there are people who practice it.

I don't necessarily believe that it's a natural state, however. Few animals have one partner for life - some do, but certainly not a great deal. Humans are complicated beings and their needs are many and varied.

I think there's something selfish about monogamy. We tend to have lots of friends but one lover. I understand it from a sexual health point of view, but frankly I don't know if there's a need for it otherwise.

I don't know, the whole 'marriage forever' and 'one man, one woman' shit seems like a crock to me. There are too many variations for it to be reasonable.

But that's just one little bear's opinion. :D

Noel with his arm casually around Julian's shoulder is so beautiful. And look how close they're sitting in the interview! Awwwww. I need to write a Noelian based around the premises that the only thing Julian likes in interviews is listening to Noel, because you can seriously see it in his face.

Homer: Every time I learn something new it pushes something else out of my brain. Remember the time I took that home wine-making course and forgot how to drive?

Marge: That's because you were drunk!

Homer: And how...

"To talk of many things:
Of shoes and ships and sealing wax,
Of cabbages and Kings.
And why the sea is boiling hot,
And whether pigs have wings."

Yes, I hired Alice in Wonderland from the video store. <3

Alas, my DVD player hates hired DVDs... sigh.

Very tired today. And irritable. And achey. Watching Unrest, lame horror movie.

Looking forward to quiet day tomorrow. Hired some movies, including aforesaid lame one. Also Lost, the first disc of the first series. Awesome, totally want to watch more.

Think I might go to bed and watch the rest tomorrow. Need sleep so badly, feel really crook tonight.

Went out for a bit today. Saw Geordie, that was good, but I wasn't much in the mood.

Tired Tori is tired...

Robert Frost speculated about the world ending in fire or in ice. Which do you think is likely to end us all: meteorite, global warming, nuclear weapons, zombies, or the superflu?

The hair freaks me out, but I like Julian's twitchy, nervous charm. Some early stand up coming at you like a beam, like a ray...

Because, clearly, I'm quite amused today...
